Manitoba Express Entry
Of the 249 candidates who received LAAs in the January 17 Manitoba Expression of Interest draw, 22 were Express Entry candidates. Express Entry candidates must have work experience in one of the in-demand occupations of Manitoba to be considered for provincial nomination. Besides they must also submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP. If the candidate receives provincial nomination from Manitoba, 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score points added to their total CRS score. They will also receive an Invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the federal Express Entry draw.
Manitoba Expression of Interest
The candidates who wish to receive provincial nomination through either Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream or Skilled Worker Overseas stream have to submit an Expression of Interest as the first step. Each of these Expression of Interest profiles is assessed on the basis of various eligibility factors such as age, work experience, education etc. and awarded a score out of 1000. The highest scoring candidates receive LAAs in the subsequent Manitoba Expression of Interest draw.
In the January 17 draw, the lowest score of Skilled Worker in Manitoba candidates was 545 and that of the Skilled Worker Overseas candidates was 708. All the 34 Skilled Worker Overseas candidates were directly invited under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
MPNP selects candidates who can support the province’s labour market through the Skilled Worker Overseas category and nominate them for Canada PR. The candidate must have a previous connection to province to be eligible under this category. It can be in the form of a close relative residing here, education or work experience, or an invitation received through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative of MPNP. To apply for provincial nomination through Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, the candidate must have a full-time, permanent job offer. Those graduated from a higher education institution in Manitoba may apply for a provincial nomination through International Education Stream.
