Ontario’s First Human Capital Priorities Draw of 2019 Issues Huge Number of Invitations

Ontario’s First Human Capital Priorities Draw

Ontario, one of the thirteen Canadian provinces & territories started its 2019 draws by issuing a huge number of Invitations to Express Entry Candidates. The recently held draw issued 1,493 Invitations to Express Entry candidates and the CRS scores of the candidates were as low as 439.

Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream paves way for the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program to look for potential candidates within the Express Entry Pool who meet the eligibility criteria set by the province and the federal government.

The draw held invited candidates with CRS scores as low as 439 which is actually lower than the minimum score of the last Express Entry Draw that was held. It should be noted that candidates who receive a nomination would gain an additional 600 CRS scores making their score shoot up to 1,039, effectively guaranteeing their chance to receive a Canadian Permanent Resident Visa.

During the year 2018, Ontario issued 3,719 Invitations through the Human Capital Priorities Stream and another 1,663 Invitations via the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and finally, 1,626 Invitations via the Skilled Trades Stream.

Most of the Human Capital Priorities Stream focused on candidates who have specific skills but this particular draw was non-targeted where the candidates did not have to have French Language Proficiency nor a job offer in Ontario.

Candidates who wish to migrate to Ontario through the Human Capital Priorities Stream should first create an Express Entry Pool only after which he/she can proceed with the further steps.
