Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)
The candidate must possess work experience in an eligible occupation and undergo a skills assessment in order to become eligible to obtain this permanent visa. The holders can live permanently and work or study anywhere in Australia, enroll in Medicare, sponsor their relatives and travel to and from Australia for five years. Later they may also apply for Australian citizenship. 90% of applications for this visa are processed within 10 months while 75% of applications have completed processing within 9 months.
Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489)
Skilled workers who wish to live and work in regional Australia may apply for Subclass 489 visa and they may also apply for the Skilled Regional (Permanent) visa (subclass 887) later. The following are the three major pathways under Subclass 489 visa are:

- Extended Stay Pathway
- Subsequent Entry Pathway
Under the Extended stay pathway of subclass 489 visa allows the holders to stay in Australia for four years. But they are required to stay in the specified region.The Subsequent Entry pathway to allows the holders to live, work and study in a specified region of Australia.
