The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) held its nomination draws on November 12 to invite 443 candidates registered in the federal Express Entry pool.
A federal Express Entry pool is a database of interested candidates with adequate human capital factors like age, education, work experience, and language proficiency in English or French. Such candidates are eligible to qualify for permanent residence under three programs –
- Federal Skilled Worker Program,
- Federal Skills Trades Program, and
- Canadian Experience Class.
Furthermore, candidates can volunteer to qualify under any of the dedicated immigration programs under any Provincial Nominee Program. In this case, it is the Ontario Express Entry: Human Capital Priorities Stream.
Hundreds of Express Entry candidates who received a chance to apply for a provincial nomination from Ontario in the latest draw had work experience in nine occupations:
- Financial managers (NOC 0111);
- Advertising, marketing, and public relations managers (NOC 0124);
- Corporate sales managers (NOC 0601);
- Financial auditors and accountants (NOC 1111);
- Other financial officers (NOC 1114);
- Professional occupations in business management consulting (NOC 122);
- Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses (NOC 3012);
- Allied primary health practitioners (NOC 3124); or
- Dieticians and nutritionists (NOC 3132).
Any registered candidates in the federal Express Entry pool are evaluated on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). A maximum of 1200 points is awarded to these candidates.
All the 443 selected candidates required a CRS score between 469 and 477 to receive a provincial nomination in the November 12 OINP draw.

Further, on receiving a successful provincial nomination, registered candidates are awarded an additional 600 CRS points, and be guaranteed to receive an Invitation to Apply for Canadian permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
Those who were invited in the November 12 draw now have 45 calendar days to apply for the provincial nomination.
Why Choose Canada?
With the launch of the updated Immigration Levels Plan for 2021-2023, Canada will now welcome over 400,000 eligible immigrants annually until 2023.
Popular economic-class programs such as Federal programs for Skilled Workers, Businesses, Caregivers, and various other family immigration programs will be given a boost. Over 80% of the annual target would be welcomed through economic-class and family immigration programs.
Canada has wide acceptance for Tech workers even if they do not have Canadian work experience. Aspirants with occupations like Computer Engineers, Software Developers, IT Experts, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil Engineers, Database Analysts, Graphics Designers, Audio & Video Recording Technicians, Finance Managers, Accountants, etc. have an excellent scope of work-life in Canada.
Canada is also favoring more French-speaking or bilingual Express Entry candidates to obtain permanent residence. It is made possible through changes in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score evaluation. Click here for complete details.
Ultimately, Canada is majorly dependent on immigration to strengthen its economy as well as support its demography. Canada is ranked No.1 immigration destination, by Gallup Global Survey, ahead of Australia at number four and the United States at number 6.
