    Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)

    The PEI PNP is operated by the provincial government to meet the objectives like increased business and economic development, the supply of skilled workers in the demanded professions, achieving the desired level of population, and achieving demographic, cultural, and social objectives.

    Candidates can apply for PEI PNP through 7 streams,

    • PEI Express Entry
    • Skilled Worker Stream
    • Intermediate Experience Stream
    • Critical Worker Stream
    • Occupations in Demand Stream
    • International Graduate Stream
    • Entrepreneur Stream

    1. PEI Express Entry

    The Prince Edward Island Express Entry stream is for applicants with an authorized Express Entry profile who desire to live in PEI. It considers applicants who already live and work as permanent employees in PEI. To meet the criteria for PEI Express Entry, you should:

    • Contain a legit profile in the Express Entry system.
    • Receive an invitation to apply from PEI based on your Expression of Interest.
    • Have valid statements about your interest in living at PEI in your Express Entry profile.
    • If you’re a post-graduate work permit holder, you should at least have 9 months of skilled work experience with an employer in PEI.

    2. Skilled Worker Stream

    The Skilled Worker stream picks applicants to hire for skilled positions as employees from in and around Canada. The eligibility criteria for the applicant are:

    • You should possess good language proficiency.
    • If you’re working in Canada, you must possess a valid work permit.
    • You must have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary education credential.
    • You should receive an invitation to apply from PEI based on your Expression of Interest.
    • You must at least have 2 years of work experience as a full-time employee in the past 5 years.
    • You should be a full-time employee with a permanent job offer under NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3rd position from an eligible PEI employer.
    • If you’re residing outside Canada, you must contain a legit status in the country you’re residing in.
    • Your employer should have received endorsement from the PEI office of immigration to be given a job offer.

    3. Intermediate Experience Stream

    The Intermediate Experience stream was initially known as the NOC C stream. It focuses on applicants with intermediate-skilled job roles from in and around Canada. If you’re choosing to apply through this stream, you must come under the following criteria.

    • Your score must be CLB 4 on a language test.
    • You must have pursued education corresponding to the Canadian high school diploma.
    • You must at least have 2 years of work experience as a full-time employee in the past 5 years.
    • You should be a full-time employee with a permanent job offer under NOC TEER 4 position from an eligible PEI employer.
    • You should have at least 6 months of Canadian work experience as a full-time employee while on an LMIA-based work permit. It should be relevant to the present employment offered in PEI.

    4. Critical Worker Stream

    This stream is exclusively for PEI employers. The PEI PNP recruits employers from PEI for semi-skilled positions, that is for NOC C and D as permanent employees depending on the labor market needs. The applicant criteria are as follows:

    • You should be between 18 to 59 years of age.
    • Your score must be CLB 4 on a language test.
    • You must possess a valid work permit in Canada.
    • You should require settlement funds to settle in PEI.
    • You should receive an invitation to apply from PEI based on your Expression of Interest.
    • You must at least have 2 years of work experience as a full-time employee in the past 5 years.
    • You must have pursued education corresponding to the Canadian high school diploma.
    • You should be a full-time employee with a permanent job offer in a semi-skilled position, NOC TEER 4 or 5 from an eligible PEI employer.
    • You should have worked at least for 6 months as a full-time employee for an employer in PEI.

    5. Occupations in Demand Stream

    The Occupations in Demand stream hires employers for job roles that are impotent to fill through the local job market. This stream operates based on talent recruitment in and outside Canada.

    If you’re an applicant for this stream, here are the criteria listed for you.

    • You should be between 18 to 59 years of age.
    • You should be a full-time employee with a permanent job offer from an eligible PEI employer under the following NOCs:
      NOC 33102 – Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates
      NOC 73300 – Transport truck drivers
      NOC 75110 – Construction trades helpers and laborers
      NOC 65310 – Light duty cleaners
      NOC 95109 – Other laborers in processing, manufacturing, and utilities
      NOC 75101 – Material handlers
      NOC 94140 – Process control and machine operators, food and beverage processing]
      NOC 94141 – Industrial butchers and meat cutters, poultry preparers, and related workers.
    • Your score must be CLB 4 on a language test.
    • You should require settlement funds to settle in PEI.
    • You must have pursued education corresponding to the Canadian high school diploma.
    • You should have worked at least for a year as a full-time employee for an employer in PEI.

    6. International Graduate Stream

    The International Graduate stream of PEI is for applicants from a PEI post-secondary institution who also have an employment offer from an employer in PEI. To apply, you should:

    • Be between 18 to 59 years of age.
    • Possess good language proficiency.
    • Have a valid post-graduate work permit.
    • Receive an invitation to apply from PEI based on your Expression of Interest.
    • Have permanent, full-time employment or at least 2 years from an employer in PEI.
    • Have completed a post-secondary degree or diploma from a publicly-funded PEI institution.

    7. Entrepreneur Stream

    The Entrepreneur contains a category called the Work Permit category. This category is for applicants who desire to commence business in PEI. You will receive an invitation to apply depending on the evaluation under the Business Expression of Interest grid. This stream follows criteria for the applicant and the business.

    • You should be between 21 to 59 years of age.
    • Your score must be CLB 4 on a language test.
    • You aspire to live, work and operate on a day-to-day basis in PEI.
    • You should have a minimum of CAD 600,000 as your personal net worth.
    • Your spouse and children should reside in PEI for a minimum of 9 months in a year.
    • You must have pursued education corresponding to the Canadian high school diploma.
    • You should have highly skilled experience in management and ownership of the business.

    The business criteria are as follows:

    • Your minimum investment should be CAD 150,000 within the first 12 months.
    • Your business must meet all the terms and conditions of your performance agreement.
    • Your firm’s financial statements should illustrate at least CAD 75,000 under operating expenses.
    • Your business should function for a minimum of 12 months consecutively before nomination.
