As each Canadian province has its Provincial Nominee Program, Newfoundland and Labrador has one too, the NL PNP! This is an expedited program that allows the individuals who possess skills and experience required by the province to migrate to Canada. The island of Newfoundland and the connected Labrador form the two separate land masses that make up the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Upon receiving the provincial nomination, you must:

• Send an application for permanent residence to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
• Your application will be evaluated by an IRCC officer using the criteria for Canadian immigration.
• These applications won’t be evaluated using the Federal Skilled Workers Program’s six selection criteria.

Newfoundland and Labrador PNP have three categories:

1. Express Entry – Skilled Worker category

For qualified applicants who have received employment offers through the federal Express Entry immigration selection system, the Newfoundland and Labrador PNP Express Entry Skilled Worker category has been created.

The candidate must be qualified to join the Federal Express Entry pool in order to submit an application for this category of Newfoundland and Labrador PNP. The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Programme, or the Canadian Experience Class requirements must be satisfied in order for the candidate to be placed in the Express Entry pool.

2. Skilled Worker Category

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) Skilled Worker Category is intended for those who have a guaranteed job offer or who are already employed in the province under a valid work permit. The applicant for the Newfoundland and Labrador PNP’s Skilled Worker Category must possess the relevant experience. Additionally, they must intend to settle in the province and have the necessary resources. Additionally, the employer must demonstrate that the organization needs the candidate’s specific set of talents.

3. International Graduate Category

The Newfoundland and Labrador PNP’s International Graduate Category is intended for recent graduates who

• Possess a degree from a postsecondary institution in Canada that qualifies.
• Who have a Post-Graduate Work Permit and are residing in Canada.
• Currently employed or have a job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador company.
• Work in their field of study at the time of application
