    Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)

    The Yukon Provincial Nominee Program facilitates employers in the province to hire foreign workers and business people by nominating Canada PR through PNP.

    YNP accepts invitations through the following streams,

    • Yukon Express Entry (YEE)
    • Skilled Worker
    • Critical Impact Worker
    • Business Nominee Program
    • Yukon Community Program

    1. Yukon Express Entry (YEE)

    The Yukon Express Entry Stream is for efficient job seekers who have an employment offer from an employer in Yukon with a present Express Entry profile under NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3. The requirements you should meet when applying through this stream are:

    • You must be in the Federal Express Entry pool.
    • You must state settlement funds to assure financial independence and support your family.
    • Your CRS points should be high in order to receive an invitation to apply for PR through the federal system.

    2. Skilled Worker

    The Skilled Worker stream is for applicants who have an employment offer from an employer in Yukon under NOC 0, A, or B. If you’re an applicant for this stream, you should:

    • Possess a legit work or study permit if you are residing currently in Canada.
    • Have at least a year of work experience relevant to your job offer.
    • Be a full-time employee with a permanent job offer under NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3rd position from a Yukon employer.
    • Score at least CLB 6 for skill level 0 and A or a minimum of CLB 5 for skill level B on a valid language test.
    • Have pursued education and contain work experience relevant to your job offer.

    If you’re an employer in Yukon, you must meet the following criteria:

    • You must be a citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
    • Your business must be licensed to function and be registered on Yukon’s corporate registry.
    • You should promote the positions based on the requirements stating the lack of regional workers to qualify for the positions.
    • Your business should be authorized by the government or should have functioned for at least a year in Yukon.

    3. Critical Impact Worker

    The Critical Impact worker stream of Yukon is for applicants who have an employment offer in a semi-skilled position from a Yukon employer under NOC TEER 4 or 5. This stream follows criteria for the applicant and for the employer.

    If you’re an applicant, you should meet the following requirements:

    • You should at least have 6 months of work experience relevant to your job offer.
    • You should score a minimum of CLB 4 for TEER 4 or 5, CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3, and CLB 6 for TEER 0 or 1 on a legit language test.
    • You should possess a legit work or study permit if you are residing currently in Canada.
    • You should be a full-time employee with a permanent job offer under NOC TEER 4 or 5 positions from a Yukon employer.
    • You should have pursued education and contain work experience relevant to your job offer.

    The following contains the criteria for an employer:

    • You must be a citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
    • Your business must be licensed to function and be registered on Yukon’s corporate registry.
    • You should promote the positions based on the requirements stating the lack of regional workers to qualify for the positions.
    • Your business should be authorized by the government or should have functioned for at least a year in Yukon.

    4. Business Nominee Program

    The Business Nominee Program of the Yukon is for aspirants with high net worth and skilled experience in business management who desire to own and manage a business in the Yukon. If you’re an applicant for this stream, you need to meet the criteria under this program and in turn, receive a work permit to successfully start a business in Yukon. The eligibility criteria for an individual are mentioned below:

    • You should have pursued at least a high school education.
    • You must have a minimum of CAD 300,000 in liquid assets.
    • You should apply to the Yukon Nominee Program before commencing any business operation in Yukon.
    • You should illustrate a planned investment of at least CAD 300,000 in capital investments within 2 years of business operation.
    • Your job position in your business should be under NOC TEER 0 or 1.
    • You must live in Yukon and manage your business daily.
    • You should score a minimum of 65 points on the assessment grid.
    • You should have at least 3 years of experience in business management.
    • You should not have any active applications on any other provincial nominee programs.

    You should be able to meet the following criteria if you are owning a business:

    • Be it starting up a new business or taking over an existing business, you must be the one managing the company.

    Your business must come under any one of the following categories:

    • Information Technology
    • Value-added processing
    • Tourism products, attractions, services, and facilities
    • Mining and mineral development
    • Cultural industries
    • Film and video production
    • Agriculture
    • Energy
    • Forestry
    • Manufacturing

    Your business will not be eligible to function if it comes under any one of the following categories:

    • Financial services
    • Most professional services
    • Holding companies
    • Gas stations
    • Restaurants
    • Business, consultation, and personal services
    • Real estate
    • Passive investments
    • Retail, wholesale operations, and distribution operations

    5. Yukon Community Program

    This program confers pliability for employers who recruit foreign employees or skilled workers for part-time and seasonal work. the criteria for the employer will be:

    • You must either be residing in Carcross, Carmacks, Haines junction, Watson Lake, Whitehorse, or Dawson City.
    • You should have been operating your business for at least 12 months consecutively.
    • You must confer employer support.
    • You should be a citizen or a permanent citizen of Canada.
    • You should promote the positions based on the requirements stating the lack of regional workers to qualify for the positions.

    Your business should not be involved in current labor disputes and should be on good terms with:

    • The Government of Yukon’s Employment Standards Branch
    • Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board
    • The Government of Yukon’s Corporate Affairs Branch
    • If you’re an applicant, you must come under the criteria either for the Skilled Worker category or the Critical Impact Worker category but the job offer is not permanent or full-time.
