Express Entry: IRCC Issues 2,000 ITAs For Canada PR In All-Program Draws

Canada PR In All-Program

For the third time since resuming all-program draws after a gap of 18 months, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued a record 2,000 invitations to apply (ITA) on August 03.

Canada invites registered Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency who qualifies for Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canada Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skills Trades Program (FSTP), or with successful provincial nominations.

August 03 Express Entry draws invited 2,000 Express Entry candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score of 533 to apply for permanent residence.

OVERVIEW OF EXPRESS ENTRY LATEST DRAWS #228
Record-breaking Draw Size 2,000 invitations to apply for Canada PR.
Lower Express Entry Cut-off  Minimum CRS score required was 533.
Is the Tie-break rule applied?  Profiles registered on or before August 03, 2022, at 15:16:24 UTC were invited.

This is particularly helpful in cases where two or more candidates end up with the same CRS score.

The latest draw is also special for a reason as IRCC targeted even the newest profiles registered as close to August 03 or before. This comes in line with IRCC’s promise to bring down the standard processing time for Express Entry candidates to about six months after the disruption caused by the pandemic.

Anybody with work experience in popular in-demand occupations like Health, Business, Finance, Sales, or Engineering/IT has a good chance of qualifying for Canda PR.

Advantage for International Students Under the Canada Express Entry

Thanks to the latest update from IRCC, Express Entry candidates will now be eligible for Canadian educational credential points for programs completed online between March 2020 and August 2022.

Normally, online education does not count for CRS points if more than 50% of the program was completed through distance learning.

The latest Express Entry reform relaxes evaluating rules for candidates who studied online during the pandemic.

The report reads the new measure applies to those who earned a Canadian degree, diploma, or certificate online during the eligibility period – March 2020 and August 2022.

These candidates may now be eligible for CRS points even if the program was entire: completed online, from outside Canada, or through part-time studies.

Additionally, thousands of expired PGWP holders can now extend their open work permit status by an additional 18 months. This will also help them transition to permanent residence and will allow them to continue working in Canada while they wait.
