Prince Edward Island welcomes Nurse aides, Truck drivers, and two more under the new stream!

In Canada, Prince Edward Island (PEI) launches Occupations in Demand Stream under PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This new stream is inclined to welcome Nurse aides, Truck drivers and more in-demand occupations on the island province.

  • Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient services associates (NOC 3413)
  • Transport Truck drivers (NOC 7511)
  • Construction trades helpers and labourers (NOC 7611)
  • Light duty cleaners (NOC 6731)

The Occupation in Demand Stream, which comes under the PEI PNP Workforce Category, aims to fill its workforce. Employers in Prince Edward Island can recruit workers from inside and outside Canada.

Who is eligible to apply?

The launch of Occupations in Demand Stream comes with a set of eligibility requirements:

  • Must have a full-time or non-seasonal permanent job offer from PEI employer from 4 occupations.
  • have 1-year work experience related to the job offered in PEI
  • be 18 to 59 years old
  • completed a secondary school Diploma
  • language test result from an IRCC-certified institution with a score of at least CLB/NCLC 4
  • possess enough funds to pay for the immigration process, travel expenses for you and your family to stay in PEI
  • have an intent to settle in PEI

PEI Expression of Interest (EOI)

Once you learn you’re eligible, you must create a Profile in the PEI Expression of Interest System to apply. You should provide your email address, identification information, and passport details. Upon account verification, you may complete your profile.

Your EOI profile will be active for six months, during which make sure to provide verifiable information and update changes such as education, employment, marital status, etc.

Once you’ve submitted your Expression of Interest under any stream of PEI PNP, wait until you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA). You may now apply for a Permanent Residency (PR) in Prince Edward Island.

Note: Submitting an EOI and applying for a PR might look cumbersome. To avoid any mistakes and have a hassle-free application process, get the help of immigration experts.

Fees & Forms

There are no charges for creating and submitting your Expression of Interest profile. However, a fee of CAD 300 is necessary for applying for a nomination.

There are two forms you may need to fill in:

  1. PEI Workforce use of Representative form

This form applies to representatives who may conduct business on your behalf. Only one representative is allowed for one applicant.

  1. PEI Workforce Job Offer Form

Your employer must fill out this form in Prince Edward Island.
