British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its usual weekly draw on November 25. The results of the same were encouraging as 360 foreign skilled workers received an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada PR.
All the invited candidates belonged to its Express Entry (EEBC) and Skills Immigration (SI) streams.
Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration Streams
EEBC is aligned with the federal Express Entry immigration selection system. It enables the province to nominate eligible candidates from the federal Express Entry pool, thereby significantly reducing application processing times.
SI program is composed of a number of categories including Skilled Worker, Healthcare Professions, International Graduate, each with their own unique eligibility requirements.
For any candidate to receive a provincial nomination from British Columbia, registration under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) is mandatory.
SIRS is a provincial database of interested people willing to migrate to British Columbia for permanent residence in Canada. All the applicants’ profiles are evaluated and ranked based on the level of education, work experience, proficiency in English, and location of employment. The evaluation is scored out of 200 points.
November 25 issued nominations under the following subcategories:
Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled subcategories.
