How to obtain a provincial nomination from Manitoba?

The first step for candidates to obtain a provincial nomination from Manitoba is to submit an Expression of Interest to the MPNP. While submitting the EoI, the candidate has to provide information with regard to a number of factors such as educational qualification, work experience, language proficiency, connections to the province of Manitoba etc. After this, each candidate profile is awarded a score based on the above factors. May 7 BC PNP draw invites 187 Express Entry, Skills Immigration candidates

The latest BC PNP draw held on May 7 invited 187 candidates belonging to Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories to apply for a provincial nomination from British Columbia. However, British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has not revealed the specific number candidates invited under each category.

BC PNP Skills Immigration:

Skilled and semi-skilled workers with work experience in high-demand occupations in British Columbia can obtain provincial nomination through BC PNP Skills Immigration categories. • Skilled Worker Category
  • Health Care Professional Category
  • International Graduate Category
  • International Post-Graduate Category
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Category

The Skills Immigration candidates nominated by BC PNP will have their applications processed outside the Express Entry system.

SIRS

The first step for a candidate to receive provincial nomination from British Columbia under Express Entry or Skills Immigration categories is to register their profile with the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) of BC PNP. It is a points-based system that evaluates candidates on the basis of various eligibility factors such as education, work experience, language proficiency etc. However, most of the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC immigration categories also require the candidates to have an indeterminate, full-time job offer from a British Columbia employer.

Immigration crucial for Canada’s future prosperity: Study

A new study has found that immigration, combined with the improved participation of under-represented groups of Canada’s labour force, is the best path forward to sustain the economic growth and high living standards of the country. The study, titled Can’t Go It Alone: Immigration is Key to Canada’s Growth Strategy, reached this conclusion after considering a variety of labour scenarios from the year 2018 to 2040. During this 22-year period, around 9.2 million Canadian baby boomers will be retiring from work, which means the demand for Canada’s publicly funded social services would be higher.

The study assumes that by 2040, nearly one-quarter of the population will be 65 or older compared to 17 per cent today. It means that if Canada does not find effective labour force growth solutions by this time, the country would face even greater pressure to fund the healthcare that its citizens increasingly rely on in their senior years.

Around 11.8 million students will also be leaving Canadian schools during the period from 2018 to 2040. They would constitute the bulk of the country’s workers and tax base. However, they will not be enough to make up for the 13.4 million workers who would be leaving the labour force during this period.

The study considered four scenarios for overcoming this impending gap in the labour force of Canada. The first was where there was no immigration to Canada during these 22 years. The other three scenarios considered the results of an immigration level of one per cent and increased labour force participation rates of women, Indigenous peoples and persons with disabilities-the groups that experience “large and chronic gaps” in labour force representation.

The study concluded that a fourth scenario that combined gradually rising immigration levels with increased labour force participation of women, Indigenous peoples and persons with disabilities was the “best path forward” for Canada. It is estimated that this combination would produce a net labour force increase of 5.9 million workers. This is comparable to the annual labour force growth between 2000 and 2017 and average annual real GDP growth of 1.9 per cent between 2018 and 2040.

This scenario is important not only in terms of benefitting the Canadian economy, but also because it would promote inclusive economic growth, alleviate poverty, and strengthen social inclusion and cohesion, according to the study.

Canada has a welcoming policy towards immigrants and they have realized that immigration is crucial for the economic growth of the country. If you too wish to immigrate to Canada, please get a free assessment to know your eligibility.

Invited sponsors can now apply to Parents and Grandparents Program

The Government of Canada has already finished issuing invitations to the selected sponsors of its Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP). Now those invited can submit their complete application to sponsor their parents/grandparents for permanent residence in Canada. The applications have to be submitted within 60 days of receiving the invitation.

The Parents and Grandparents Program allows eligible Canadian citizens and permanent residents above the age of 18 to sponsor their parents and/or grandparents for permanent residence in Canada. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has set a target to accept a total of 20,000 complete applications to the PGP in the year 2019.

If a Canadian citizen or permanent resident is interested in sponsoring their parents/grandparents for permanent residence in Canada, they must first submit an Interest to Sponsor form during the submission period. The submission period usually falls in January every year. The intake this year was held on January 28, when the PGP accepted a total of 27,000 Interest to Sponsor forms on a first-in, first-served basis. PGP being one of the most sought-after family class immigration programs of Canada, it took only less than 10 minutes for the IRCC to reach the intake limit.

The invitations to apply were issued in the same order as the IRCC received the Interest to Sponsor forms. Before issuing the invitations, IRCC conducted a review of the accepted Interest to Sponsor forms to ensure the eligibility of the applicants and remove duplicate applications, if any. The IRCC began issuing invitations on April 24 and completed the process on April 27.

The invited sponsors can now submit their complete applications along with the supporting documents within 60 days of receiving the invitation. If any of those who have successfully submitted the Interest to Sponsor forms haven’t yet received the invitation to apply, the IRCC will be keeping their submission and contact information, it has been informed.

The IRCC’s website says that it may conduct another round of accepting the interest to sponsor forms in 2019 if Canada needs more potential sponsors.

In 2018 also, IRCC held the second round of invitations to apply to the PGP at the end of July. The annual target of complete applications to be accepted was also increased from 10,000 to 17,000 in the year.

New Study Says that Canada’s Key to Economic Growth is Immigration

Canada no wonder is one of the developed countries and a country that is still on the development pathway with developments happening in every sector. And studies say that the reason behind all these developments is immigration.

A recent study states that by the year 2040 one out of four people will be aged 65 plus and with the country continuing to face a low birth rate, immigration happens to one key reason which would help the country maintain its social infrastructure and healthy growth!

canada immigration

It should be noted that the retirement rate of Canada has already gone up and by the year 2030 most of the Canadian workforce will be retired already, bringing in great economic pressure. On the other hand, between the years 2018 and 2040, an approximate of 11.8 million Canadians will graduate and start working. But that’s not enough and the asking rate is more.

People who have aged above 65 are expected to represent an approximate of 25 per cent of the total Canadian population which is a rise of 17 per cent from today. This issue has been well understood by the Canadian Government and has been taking continuous measures to overcome them.

The increase of Canadian Immigration targets and the new multi-year immigration plans for the next three years is seen as a positive approach by the Canadian Government towards this issue. If the Canadian Government could gradually raise its immigration rate to 1 per cent of its entire population by 2030, there would be some 5.3 million increased labour force and would account for up to one – third of the economic growth between the years 2018 and 2040.

The current scenario could be an ideal time for immigrants who are aspiring to migrate to Canada. If you are looking forward to migrating to Canada, get in touch with our experts and check your eligibility to immigrate for free!

3350 candidates invited in May 1 Express Entry draw

In the latest Express Entry draw that took place on May 1, 2019, a total of 3350 candidates were invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required dropped slightly by one point to 450, compared to the previous draw held on April 17 when the minimum required score was 451

Tie-break rule was applied in the latest draw as in the previous draws, the time stamp given being November 5, 2018 at 12:27:07 UTC. It means all candidates with a CRS score of 450 and above were invited to apply in the May 1 Express Entry draw.

The latest draw is the ninth Express Entry draw of 2019. With 31250 ITAs already issued so far, it seems the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is right on the track of achieving this year’s economic immigration targets. As higher admission targets have been set for the years till 2021, it is all likely that the minimum CRS score requirement would drop further.

As per the updated Immigration Levels Plan of Canada for 2019-2021, the country will admit 256,000 candidates through the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Class- the three economic immigration programs managed under the Express Entry during the plan period. Another 200000 candidates will be admitted through Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). The minimum CRS score requirement may reduce further as the IRCC holds larger or more frequent draws during these years.

This accounted for an approximate of 400,000 new jobs between the period 2003 and 2013. The study found out that private firms that are young created more employment opportunities than putting it down. In fact, private companies created more jobs than Canadian owned companies. Immigrant-owned companies that were less than four years seems to play a very important role in the employment section.

It is expected that the growing immigration activities will for sure be creating an additional number of employment opportunities in the years to come.
