    Nomination Process for New South Wales

    New South Wales is Australia’s powerhouse and home to around 10000 ICT workers. NSW is known to be the 3rd largest financial centre within the region and to have the 80% of the total pharmaceutical companies in Australia.

    With all the opportunities the NSW has to offer, the state also offers the nomination for the highly skilled professionals within a certain range of the occupations for helping to drive economic growth within the state.

    There are certain features available as part of the nomination process for New South Wales. They are,

    • NSW nominates highly skilled professionals or migrants the occupation of who remain listed on the priority skills occupation list.
    • Candidates get selected based on the requirement of the labour market of NSW.
    • There is a points-based test, and the visa is based on it. It means the applicants will be required to get tested based on their qualifications, work, age, experience and education, apart from the other factors which are considered during the nomination process.
    • In case candidates are nominated by NSW, they will receive 5 extra points for being appointed under subclass 190 visa and 15 points for subclass 491.
    • Once the nomination is received candidate will be required to work in live in NSW for the next 2 years.

    Skilled Nominated Visa- Subclass 190

    The invitation process, selection based, is used by NSW for ensuring that the nominees get aligned with skills that are required by the economy of the state. The visa nomination is quite competitive in subclass 190, and it is encouraged that all the applicants, they consider the migration pathway available on the Home Affairslaunch website instead of just waiting for an invitation to make an application for the NSW nomination.

    It is the federal government that retains the responsibility program for the migration program of Australia.     Eligibility

    To be considered for the nomination of the NSW program, the below-mentioned criteria are to be satisfied.

    • Applicant must remain skilled within the occupation that is provided in the ANZSCO unit group identified on the NSW Skill list for the visa, and they must be eligible for the visa.

    • The applicant must have submitted the expression of interest through SkillSelect if they are seeking the nomination for skilled nominated visa subclass 190.

    Application Process

    • Begin with confirming that you remain to be eligible for the visa.

    Reasons for Rejection of Application

    • The Skilled employment has been overclaimed.
    • Applicant does not meet residency requirements for the minimum period of 6 months to be residing in NSW or offshore.
    • The applicant is not able to provide all the evidence for the claims they have made in the expression of interest.
    • Some of the important information provided through the documents are false.

    Definitely, there exist different migration Pathways for moving to Australia for prospective skilled migrants, but one must make sure that no matter for which subclass visa they make the application, correct information is provided, and nothing is overclaimed or false. Serious action against the fraudulent activities gets reported to the Home Affairs and NSW police.

    Skilled Work Regional Visa- Subclass 491

    Same as above, in this subclass visa, too, it is the federal government retaining complete responsibility for Australia’s migration program. It is under their agreement with the NSW government, including the state and the territory governments, that the decision is made and a limited number of the applicants get appointed for the seats distributed by the federal government.

    The NSW nomination for the given visa allows the skilled migrants to work, study and live in the designated regional Arealaunch of the NSW for at least a time period of 5 years.

    There exist two Pathways for making the NSW nomination for the given visa. It includes,

    Pathway 1

    Direct application to the Regional Development Australia office.
    In this pathway, there are two streams of nomination.
    It includes whether the applicant has established their work history with the employer who is based in regional NSW or if the skills of the applicants are required within the regional NSW.

    Pathway 2

    Get invited for making the application through Investment NSW.

    Criteria for Nomination

    In order to remain eligible for the nomination, one must meet the eligibility requirements that have been provided by Home Affairs for the given visa. One of the important conditions which need to be satisfied is that the applicant must be skilled within the eligible occupation. Apart from it for varied streams, the below-mentioned criteria will be applicable.

    Direct application to Regional Development Australia office- Pathway 1

    Stream A

    For making the application within this stream, the applicant must currently work and live in the designated regional area of the NSW, and they must have done the same for the last 12 months. Further, the applicant’s qualifying skilled employment before they make the application must be,

    • Within the nominated occupation or the one that is closely related.
    • Having any deemed skill.
    • With a similar regional employer who is based in NSW.
    • The applicant must be paid TSMIT salary level- $53,900 at minimum.

    Stream B

    • Applicant must remain skilled within the occupation, which is in the ANZSCO unit group that has been identified on the skills list of stream B, and they must also be eligible for the visa.
    • Applicant must be residing offshore or in NSW, and they must have done the same continuously for 3 months minimum.

    Nomination Process

    In order to make the application, the below-mentioned steps will be followed,

    • Confirm that you, as an applicant, are eligible for the visa with the Home Affairslaunch.
    • The applicant must meet all of the executive requirements for their chosen stream of nomination.
    • Applicant must complete an expression of interest in SkillSelect, and they must make sure that the information remains correct and that they are seeking the nomination for subclass 491 only.
    • Complete the application and ensure to make the fee payment to the RDA office directly in the nominating region that has been chosen.
    • Next, make the application for the NSW nomination through an online form.
    • Just wait for around 8 weeks to know the application outcome.

    Get an Invitation to Apply through Investment NSW- Pathway 2

    To be considered for Pathway 2

    • Applicant must remain skilled within the occupation which is in the ANZSCO unit group that has been identified on the skills list of Pathway 2, and they must also be eligible for the visa.
    • Applicant must be residing offshore or in NSW, and they must have done the same continuously for 3 months minimum.
    • The applicant must have submitted the expression of interest in SkillSelect, where they seek nomination for Skilled Work Regional Visa subclass 491 only.

    Application Process

    In order to make the application, the below-mentioned steps will be followed,

    • Confirm that you, as an applicant, are eligible for the visa with the Home Affairslaunch.
    • The applicant must meet all of the executive requirements for their chosen stream of nomination.
    • Applicant must complete an expression of interest in SkillSelect, and they must make sure that the information remains correct and that they are seeking the nomination for subclass 491 only.
    • Now, wait to receive the invitation for application. Remember that there exists a huge demand for NSW nomination, and not all will receive the invitation.
    • If you receive an invitation, make the application for the NSW nomination. Do it directly to Investment NSW using the link that gets provided within the email.
    • As part of the last step, you need to wait for around 6 weeks to know the application’s outcome.

    Just in case if the application is denied, there exist some common reasons that have been discussed above, and the same remains applicable for the given pathway also.
