Manitoba’s Seventh Expression of Interest Draw Pushes Total Invitations to Over 3000 this Year

Manitoba, one of the Canadian province has been highly active in taking immigrants right from the start of this year. In fact, it should be noted that Manitoba has conducted Seven Expression of Interest Draws till date and the total number of Invitations issued this particular year by Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program through these streams have crossed 3000.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program allows the province to select candidates those who seem to meet the labour market needs of the province from the Canadian Express Entry Pool and it should also be mentioned that MPNP was Canada’s first provincial nominee program.

The invitations sent on the 28^th of March draw were to candidates in the MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Worker in Manitoba and International Education Streams. With this draw, the seventh Expression of Interest Draw, the total number of Invitations issued by Manitoba via these streams is 3,199 and the minimum score drops to 433 for Skilled Workers in Manitoba.

Candidates invited on March 28^th (a total of 595 candidates) had with them an Expression of Interest Profile registered with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (which is the first step to be considered for a nomination via multiple streams). Expression of Interest Profiles are given scores based on factors like work experience, education, age, language proficiency and other important factors.

It is expected that Manitoba will be inviting more candidates with the help of its provincial nominee programs. With certain streams providing pathways to permanent residence, Manitoba could be one of the ideal provinces to apply and migrate to.

Canada invites 3350 candidates in latest Express Entry draw

In the seventh Express Entry draw of 2019 held on April 3, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3350 candidates to apply for permanent residence in Canada. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off threshold for the draw was 451 points, one point lower than the requirement for the previous Express Entry draw held on March 20, when the CRS cut-off threshold was 452.

Tie-break rule was applied in the latest draw as in the previous Express Entry draws, the time stamp given being January 9, 2019 at 07:35:09 UTC. It means all candidates who had submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time were invited to apply.

With the latest draw, the total number of invitations issued by the IRCC so far this year has reached 24,550. Compared to the same time period last year, Canada has issued 7,050 more invitations in 2019. This is also the fifth consecutive Express Entry draw where IRCC is issuing 3350 invitations.

As per the updated Immigrations Levels Plan of Canada for 2019-2021, the country is planning to welcome 81400 new immigrants through the three economic immigration programs–Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Class– managed under the Express Entry, in 2019. So it is expected that the draw sizes may increase in the coming months. The target for Provincial Nominee Programs for the year is 61000.

308 French – Speaking Candidates Receive Letters of Interest from Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia, in its March 20th Draw issued Letters of Interest to French Speaking candidates. The Express Entry Labour Market Priorities Stream Draw issued 308 Letters of Interest to candidates who meet certain specific conditions.

Nova Scotia is one of the Canadian provinces which provides immigrants with high employment opportunities and an even higher standard of living when compared to most of the other provinces. The draw held on March 20^th was specifically for candidates who speak French and they need to have a CLB score of 7 plus in all the four modules (reading, speaking, writing & listening).

The individuals were also required to have a minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark score of 5 in English in all the four modules and the particular individual who has received a letter of interest will have 30 calendar days to submit a completed application form.

Below mentioned are the requirements that an individual should have met for the March 20^th Draw:

The first and the foremost requirement being, the candidate should have submitted a profile to the Express Entry pool (on or after the 20^th of September 2018).
The candidate should have taken French as their first language and a Canadian Language Benchmark score of 7.

Finally, the applicant should hold with him/her a Bachelor’s degree or a three year course at an university, college or other institutes.

British Columbia in Its Latest Draw Issued 242 Invitations to Candidates

British Columbia under its Provincial Nominee Program invited candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. Individuals who have received a provincial nomination certificate from British Columbia will be receiving 600 additional CRS Scores which will increase their chances to get a Canadian PR.

British Columbia, one of the unique Canadian provinces has been inviting candidates under its Provincial Nominee Program. British Columbia invites candidates under the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC streams which is available to individuals who have an active Express Entry Profile. The Express Entry System, introduced during the year 2015 is responsible for Canada’s three most economic immigration programs, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.

The draw held on the 26^th of March invited 242 candidates under the Skilled Workers, International Graduates and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Categories of BC PNP. Individuals who received a provincial nomination should have first registered with British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program’s Skills Immigration Registration System. Skills Immigration Registration System is nothing but the unique points-based system which British Columbia uses to evaluate candidates based on factors like age, education, work experience, language proficiency & certain other factors.

What should definitely be noticed is that an additional 23 number of invitations were issued to BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Candidates. The candidates had registration scores as low as 106. The scores for each category for the draw held on the 26^th of March are being mentioned below:

Ontario’s New Skilled Trades Stream Draw Invites Express Entry Candidates

The Canadian province Ontario held a new Skilled Trades Stream draw on the 21^st of March which paved the path for Express Entry candidates to immigrate. The particular draw had 361 invitations issued to Express Entry candidates.

Ontario has been one of the provinces which has been showing a great deal of interest in taking immigrants in order to meet the province’s demands this year. Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is an ideal pathway where an international student or a foreign worker could apply for a provincial nomination and immigrate to Canada. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program looks for potential immigrants under the Express Entry System and sends them a provincial nomination certificate. It should be noted that candidates when applying under the Skilled Trades Stream do not need a job offer but they must be meeting all the requirements specified by the Federal & provincial requirements by the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.

Candidates who receive a provincial nomination certificate from Ontario will be gaining 600 additional CRS Scores which would increase the chances for him/her to gain a Canadian Permanent Residence.

Canada Announces Open Work Permits for Approved Caregiver Applicants!

The Canadian Government in its recent update stated that individuals who have been already approved under Canada’s Interim Pathway for Caregivers can now apply for a Canadian Open Work Permit Visa. The Canadian Government came up with this update on the 21^st of March.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada said that candidates can be submitting an Open Work Permit when they submit an application for their Canadian Permanent Residence. The processing of the applied open work permit application will only be started once the candidate clears/passes IRCC’s eligibility test for the relevant pathway.

An applicant (Interim Pathway Caregiver) in order to be eligible for a Canadian Open Work Permit Visa should have met the following requirements:

The applicant should be in Canada and should have the intent to reside in other Canadian provinces other than Quebec.
Should be a principal applicant on a PR application under the Interim Pathway for Caregivers.
The applicant should have been authorized to work in Canada under a work permit other than a Live-in Caregiver Program or
The applicant should be eligible for restoration of status and should have held a work permit other than a Caregiver work permit or
He/she should have been authorized to work without a work permit
The applicant should have cleared an eligibility assessment for their paper application for permanent residence.

It should be noted that the Canadian Open Work Permits can also be availed by family members of Interim Pathways applicants (only if eligible). During the time of application submission, the primary applicant and his/her family members should be paying the work permit processing fee of $ 155.

This pathway will remain open until the 4^th of June, 2019 and is open for individuals who came to work in Canada after the 30^th of November 2014 under Caring for People with High Medical Needs or Caring for Children pilot program.

Canada invites 3350 candidates in the latest Express Entry draw

A total of 3350 candidate were invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the 113th Express Entry draw held on March 20. The Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS)cut-off threshold for the latest draw was 452 points. Compared to the previous draw held on March 7, the CRS requirement witnessed a slight drop, from 454 to 452.

As in the previous Express Entry draws, tie-break rule was applied in the March 20 draw too, the time stamp given being February 7, 2019 at 09:59:25 UTC. It implies that all candidates with a CRS score of 452 and above, who submitted their Express Entry profiles before the said date and time, have been invited to apply for permanent residence in Canada in the draw.

With the latest draw, which is the sixth draw of 2019, the total number of invitations issued by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) so far this year has reached 21,200.

As per the updated Immigration Levels Plan for 2019-2021, Canada is planning to accept around 256,000 new immigrants through the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Class– the three economic immigration pathways managed by the Express Entry, during the plan period. Yet another 200,000 or so new permanent residents will come to Canada through Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) before the end of 2021.

Canada is taking all efforts to meet the immigration targets for the current year. As part of its attempt to meet the immigration targets under the Immigration Levels Plan, Canada will issue more invitations to eligible immigration aspirants from all over the world in the next three years. Experts also assume that the CRS requirement will be retained at the current level or lowered in the upcoming Express Entry draws for the purpose.
